i agree. I went home and downloaded the CD and I was kind of disappointed that it didn't sound like the same band as I had just seen.

when they play live they sound like an awesome r&b infused version of circa or something, whereas on record they sound like a fucking disney channel boy band.

yeah kinda true. heard so many good things and saw a few live vids and, while the EP's still good, just not as good as their live sheeeit.

they've got a lot of people anxious for an LP though (including me)

I seriously just downloaded their album a few days ago.
They're great. Awesome vocals.

everything that has to do with both music and alaska always turns out well...

i'd really love them to get an LP out that doesn't have the same mushy sounding production of their EP
i think that's where the whole disney channel vibe comes from
i think I Knew You'd Never Fly sounded more appealing on youtube

yeah and their new single is disappointing
it sounds like every other arty post-hardcore band-gone pop
envy on the coast, monty are i and whatnot
both of which are bands i enjoy, but i wasn't really expecting this from them

I completely agree. They really need to capture their live sound in the studio. If hadn't seen them live last summer, I probably never would have understood the EP, let alone give it a chance.

I have absolutely no idea what's up with that new single, but I haven't given up hope.

(and by live sound, I mean five-string bass fury with groovy dance moves)

Yeah, definitely check them out if you have the chance. They have their band eq down to a science: there's no frequency/volume war, and each instrument is balanced just right. It helps that they're tight musically, too.

Plus, this is reason enough to see them:

Haha, that's hilarious.

I definitely would see them. Only problem is i live in england. Which is awesome. Except to see bands.
I just have to hope they come to the UK sometime soon.
