The Reign Of Kindo is excluded lol
anyways, I've been listening to Aaron Parks A LOT lately. Beautiful, pure jazz. Very very entertaining, its got the flavor of something you might here in the background of a coffee shop, but upon closer listen, you will find it very very beautiful. no voices, but simply amazing.
If you want a good intro track, listen to the first song, Travelers. I love the change at 4:20.
I also LOVE Miles Davis's Autumn Leaves. I listen to it so much
I play jazz. I love jazz. I breathe jazz. But I don't know shit about it, I just know I love it lol. So what's your guy's favorite musicians? and if you can, upload it to something so we can all download it lol

Wes Montgomery is easily my favorite jazz musician, and one of my favorite guitarists.
I've heard Aaron Parks before, but I've never really listened to it seriously. Thanks for bringing it to my attention again, it's great stuff.
I'll upload a really good Wes Montgomery live album.

good move tim.
autumn leaves is such a standard, and such a beautiful song & i concur about wes montgomery. the man was unbelievable.
Charlie Parker, obviously, is one of my favorites. Charlie Hunter too. If you don't know him look him up. Plays 8-string guitar (lowest 3 bass strings, highest 5 guitar strings) and though it seems completely like a bullshit gimmick, it's not at all. and he rips. i saw him live last year, and it was incredible.
i'll get around to uploading some stuff sometime in the near future...

Both are by Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers. Art is my favorite jazz drummer of all time and this take of the classic "Moanin' " is excellent
and this is another song by them that is very sexy called "Blue Monk"
when i was first getting into jazz i was prone to the saxaphone, because it's such a smooth and dynamic instrument. some great saxaphonists are Charlie Barker, Earl Bostic, John Coltrane, David Bowie (lol jk).
Jazz pianists tend to rule the genre because they usually are multi-instrumental and have the talent for rhythm; i.e. Thelonius Monk, Count Basie, Charles Mingus, Dave Brubeck (also great sax), Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea
I'm partial to the great drummers of jazz because that's what keeps me interested and relaxed while i'm listening to it and keeps me coming back, i appreciate talents and fusion but i gotta have dat rhythmmm
