i write sins not tragedies was a really big pop hit. found it annoying and was a turn off. Pretty Odd is a nice occasional listen. was the drop of the exclamation point to prove a point or something?

While I do enjoy a few songs on Pretty Odd, the fact that it is basically Panic at the Disco Presents: Sgt. Peppers' Lonely Hearts Club Band was a pretty big forehead slap for me. And the band doesn't even try to hide it. It one interview they talked about how the lead singer had never heard the Beatles, and after being given their entire anthology by their producer or something, they rewrote the whole album.

Also, the whole exclamation point in their name never bugged me at all, but fuck if the stupid ass periods in the album title do.

That and the long title names. Fuck "There's a Reason These Tables Are Numbered, Honey, You Just Haven't Thought of it Yet" and it's soon to be sequal, "Ode to the Green Lump of Putty I Found Between My Toes One Midsummer Morning". Get a grip and just number your god damn songs.

I think that just because they are a FBR artist that they get lumped together with all the other scene bands. But I find it funny that since the release of Pretty Odd people have stopped calling them emo. When Fever was just up paced pop rock. I enjoy both albums.

I don't know, I could never get into them. Even their pop stuff was way too annoying to listen to. I've listen to Pretty. Odd. a couple of times and I don't really like it.

We're always dying... "death is caused by swallowing small amounts of saliva over long periods of time", let alone panic at the disco...

I just think it's really funny that the guy had never heard the Beatles and then had an "epiphany" and changed the whole record.

at least its good business. shit. every label now is trying to find a new power pop band to sign and push the latest trend. but whoever pushed it onto patd to take stuff from the biggest band ever instead of the bands of today was a smart person.
