The Dillinger Escape Plan
Posted Image

The Dillinger Escape Plan is an american matchore band. If you want a real bio go here.
They play a genre that mixes metal/hardcore punk with jazz, ambient etc. etc. in strange time signatures.
Over the years they changed a lot of members, Chris Pennie (founding member), Brian Benoit, Gil Sharone and Jeff Tuttle (who recently left the band) just to name a few. They also recorded an EP called "Irony is a Dead Scene" with Mike Patton on vocals when they didn't have a singer.
Current line-up is:
Ben Weinman - guitar, beard, neil diamond
Greg Puciato - vocals, muscles
Liam Wilson - bass, veganism
Billy Rymer - drums, taco bell

They are currently recording their fifth record, which will be released next year.

NEW ALBUM TITLE, NEW ALBUM COVER

ONE OF US IS THE KILLER is set to be released through our own Party Smasher Inc., in partnership with Sumerian Records (Animals As Leaders, The Faceless, Periphery) in North America. Party Smasher's partnership with BMG covers the rest of the world, including licensing deals with Grind House (Helmet, Cancer Bats, Funeral For A Friend) for Japan and Remote Control (Radiohead, Vampire Weekend, MIA) in Australia.

The new album was recorded in Southern California with longtime producer Steve Evetts (Glassjaw, The Cure, Suicide Silence), with additional production at guitarist/co-founder Ben Weinman's studio. Mastering will be handled by Tom Baker (Deftones, Nine Inch Nails, Beastie Boys).

This new era in The Dillinger Escape Plan begins now. In the coming weeks, look for more information surrounding the album and tours. Party Smasher Inc. will be home to innovative releases from Dillinger, associated projects and other band curated work in the coming years.

I'm curious to know what people thought of Option Paralysis, because I've heard a lot of negative comments from people, but I think the album is brilliant.

I absolutely agree with you. Sometimes i think there are too many fans that think Calculating Infinity is their best album, TDEP will never top it and they'd just like to hear the same album over and over, but in my opinion they're just getting better with every album.

My favorite line off of the new album, so far? "You smell like shit, that's the truth!" Haha. Their lyrics can be sort of refreshingly blunt sometimes.

The new album is out today, and it is streaming on my favorite website Pitchfork. Go listen to it, and if you like it buy it! (if you like vinyl, the one they made for this album looks gorgeous)
