Wot Gorilla?
Posted Image

I discovered this band a couple of days ago and i istantly fell in love with them.
They're a four piece math rock band from Halifax blablablablabla.. they're amazing and, oh my god, one of them is wearing a TMV shirt!!
You can clearly hear hints of This Town Needs Guns, Minus the Bear in their music, and i like to think there's something from AGBPOL too.

Here's the description on their bandcamp, which is surely better than mine:

"Wot Gorilla? are a four piece band from Halifax brandishing freshly stitched math rock with pleasing soft breakdownsintertwined.

Formed in late 2008, they've performed regular shows both alone and alongside the likes of Wild Beasts, The Get Up Kids & Tubelord.
In August 2010 the band performed on the BBC Introducing stage at Reading and Leeds festival.

The band are currently unsigned."

They have two EPs and a single out, currently, and they're FREE:

Obviously not the singer, but the music very much reminds me of Minus the Bear. Pretty good.

I've actually never listened to Closure in Moscow and Minus the Bear. I tried to listen a couple of songs from them once, but they didn't impress me. Should i try again?

I listened to First Temple. It was pretty good, and Permafrost was one of the songs i liked the most.

Anyway, back to this band, i like "is" and the New Arrival EP (especially the song "Fear of Flying") more everytime i listen to them. So good.

After listening to it more i can say it is my favorite song ever. True story.

Here's an early version of "is". Looks like they're great too, live, especially the singer.

I bought Kebnekaise last night and have listened to it 4 times through. This album rules. I highly recommend spending the little amount they are asking for this wonderful album.
