"Hadestown is a folk opera based on the orpheus myth and set in a post-apocalyptic American depression era."

This is something I came across recently and had a feeling that most of you would like. This album has quite the all-star cast, and has received extremely strong reviews. I highly recommend it to you all.

"Way Down Hadestown" featuring Justin Vernon, Ani DiFranco and Ben Knox Miller

Oh man, didn't realize Justin Vernon was on this.

I saw her open for Lost in the Trees (solo) in Buffalo last year. It was pretty good and I meant to check out more... but " folk opera based on the orpheus myth and set in a post-apocalyptic American depression era" is also a series of words that all appeal to me.

Edit: Spotify link for the album.

I hope to set an example. You know, for children and stuff.

This album is great. At first I wasn't sure about her voice, it's pretty unique, but I really love it. Wedding Song is my favorite which also has Vernon on it.

Yeah, this album is fantastic. Vernon's voice always being echoed and usually dubbed over with his voice also in falsetto confuses me. That's a larger issue, though.

I hope to set an example. You know, for children and stuff.
