So i randomly checked these guys out last night and downloaded a couple of songs - which led me to buy their EP and their first LP that came out today.
Im pretty sure Spin and RS are sitting on the balls of these guys - but dont let that detarct you its some pretty cool stuff. A bit hard to describe but they are all very talented, drummer is jazz, two guitar players are self taught but they create a very nice sound, the clean guitar itnerplay is brilliant and the bass really drives everything well. They also incorporate some reggae and dub into their tunes which is a nice touch.
If you wanna try:
After Robots (Full length debut out today)
And if you want a taste of them live here is a link to a daytrotter session they recorded a few days ago:

ZOL! mp3 -
Release Date: June 8, 2010
5. Mzabalazo (Demo)
- After the release of their debut album After Robots, Johannesburg-based BLK JKS are ready to strike again with the release of their upcoming EP, Zol! on June 8, 2010 on Secretly Canadian.
- The album starts off with “Iietys,” a solid progressive rock number that will remind you of The Mars Volta.
- In “Bogobe,” the band becomes more experimental, giving an eerie touch before slowly evolving to space-rock throughout the rest of the track.
- The title-track “Zol!” showcases the band pimping themselves for the World Cup anthem, loaded with Kwaito, Afro-pop beat and choir chants.
