This is a band from the early 90s that I was recently introduced to. I have only heard their album "Spilt Milk" but it really is an amazing album. There is a lot of Dear Hunter like qualities to it.... Lots of big instrumentation, beach boy like harmonies, and lots of dynamics. Jon Brion (scored movies like Eternal Sunshine and I Heart Huckabees) plays some things on this album. It sounds fuckin great too.

yes, Jellyfish were brilliant. I would say The Dear Hunter have many Jellyfish-like qualities, but pretty much most if not all power-pop groups that have come since you could describe as having JF influence or elements.

Check out "Bellybutton" as well, as that one includes Jason Falkner.

Yeah, I just got into them a couple months ago. Definitely worth checking out. Both albums are powerpop gold.
