This thread is the band known as Mastodon. These guys are a breathe of air in a slowly redundant time of metal music out there today. They already have two other LPs with Relapse Records: Remission and Leviathan; Relapse has also release a compilation album of early songs and demos called "Call of the Mastodon" and a DVD called "The Workhorse Chronicles". Their newest album will be done under Warner Music. I looked foward to your thoughts on the upcoming album(s) and shows.

Albums:
Remission (2002)
Leviathan (2004)
Blood Mountain (2006)

EP's, DVDs, and Compilations:
Slick Leg (EP, 2001)
Lifesblood (EP, 2001)
The Workhorse Chronicles (DVD, 2006)
Call of the Mastodon (2006)

Videos
March of the Fire Ants (Remission)**
Iron Tusk (Leviathan)*
Blood and Thunder (Leviathan)*
Seabeast (Leviathan)
Blood and Thunder (live, promo) (Leviathan)**
Cryatal Skull (live, promo) (Blood Mountain)**
Capillarian Crest (promo) (Blood Mountain)**
The Wolf is Loose (Blood Mountain)**
Colony Of Birchmen (Blood Mountain)
Sleeping Giant (Blood Mountain)
(Videos with "*" is on the Deluxe Edition of their cds. Those with two "*" are on both the D.E. cds and their web site.)

The Band:
Brann Dailor - drums
Brent Hinds - guitar, vocals
Bill Kelliher - guitar, vocals
Troy Sanders - bass guitar, vocals

Guest Artists
Scott Kelly (Neurosis)
Neil Fallon (Clutch)
Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age)
Cedric Bixler-Zavala (The Mars Volta)
Isaiah "Ikey" Owens (The Mars Volta)

HAHAHAHA where is that comic from? That is too funny!

I love this band. One of the most talented "metal" bands I have ever heard. So good.

Mastodon's really good and I've been listening to them for awhile now but I think they are extremely overrated. yes. i'm talking to you Pitchfork Media.

That comic is a classic, always a crowd pleaser. As for Mastodon, they're doing things in metal that nobody else does, and for this, they've become one of my favorite bands. So metal.
