I have some stuff from "alkaline trio" but can't get much into the genre... "Time to waste" is probably the only song I like by them, and it's not that punkish.

edit: forgot about FOB's early stuff... "Take this to your grave" has some good moments to it, like "reiventing the wheel to blah blah blah"

For anyone who wants to listen to good punk, check out "Avail" and "Dillinger Four"

Then do it...

As I said, I'm not a punk connoisseur... So I quickly browsed though my "all playlist" and that was the closest to punk I could find. And age as nothing to do it... ppl just grow out of some stuff, not because it's bad (okay sometimes) but most of the time I guess it's just our taste evolving.

have you heard Potemkin City Limits?

Also..no offense.but that joke didn't make much sense. Punk changed a lot of things.

Also...I know people used to think they liked punk when they were kids. I'm sure Ashley actually did. But this thread is for true fans. Kyle <33

I find it strange I am one of the only people on this board who listens to punk because I truly love TDH. Granted it's not a very popular genre, but does anyone else have respect for bands like Crass, Minor Threat, Adolescents, Bad Brains or Bad Religion? I know it took me a while to get used to the sound, just like it does with metal or with screamo.

I will up anything anyone wants (and that goes for other music as well, jazz, rock, www.last.fm/user/blendo). Also, I'm a Lagwagon fangirl. To me, punk is not hehe! a song about whales that goes fast and has funny words! It's something that clicks in my heart. New punk I like is usually super melodic and fast, a'la The Lawrence Arms or Hit the Switch. Lots of people think it's dead because they don't know.

satyphan, i was never really a FOB fan but Take This To Your Grave definitely had some great songs, my favorite being "Sending Postcards from a Plane Crash (Wish You Were Here)".
I love pop punk, too, so feel free to bring that in. I used to be a HUGE Starting Line fan when Say It Like You Mean It came out. Honestly, @ satyphan also, I never really dug Alk3. They are very good and nice but not sharp enough as punks. Matt Skiba alone, however, and his songwriting skills, I fucking love.

Here is a treat of good, new punk: http://www.mediafire.com/?myxuyhmiazn just a lil EP by Re-Volts

i was never really big on punk music. rancid and the clash was about as punk as i got. i was big into the pop-punk though. blink 182, good charlotte (first cd was pop punk idc what you say), new found glory, fall out boy. that's what i was listening to when i first got into "alternative" music.
