they put on a fucking amazing live show, but i really don't listen to their recorded stuff much anymore other than for nostalgia. there are lots of post rock bands doing much more interesting things nowadays. still though, their live set can't be matched.

The only other post rock band I listen to is Sigur Ros. What are some other good ones?

Godspeed! You Black Emporer is pretty good

Also, love Explosions. The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place is the only album I have, but it's very good.

A band I would watch live time and time again but would not repeat albums.

Mono and World's End Girlfriend (and GSY!) are my favorite post-rockers.

post rock is my absolute favorite genre and forte. here are some albums to get anyone started. all this stuff is pretty popular within the genre so a simple search should be able to track it down. if you can't find something just say so and i'll be more than happy to upload it. theres lots of different styles in post rock but any fans of EITS will definitely dig the following

edit: farfann00gan it i'll just give you the links. none of them are mine but should work. sorry for the amount of rapidshit links.

for some reason, explosions is making more of an effect on me at college than it ever has. i dont know why.

"Memorial" and "The Only Moment We Were Alone" are so powerful to me right now.

WEG is awesome, so are xplosions, it is really a great genre, and i base that on most of these bands ability to create such dense and heavy emotion without using lyyrics

its beautiful
