I'm still new, and I have never felt unwelcome here. So, good on you guys for that! I've been through a lot of forums, and sometimes the people are just such asses towards newcomers. I plan to stick around for a long while. :)

The Thread of Politics and Social Issues is a great place for people to jump into the conversation. Right now, it's my opinion vs everyone else (which is fine). But more opinions are always welcome!!!

I'd agree that a lot of the lull can be attributed to the lack of a current release (not counting the symphony - as stretts said, it's kind of an anomaly as releases go) and activity probably will pick up when the next Act or Migrant or whatever comes next is released. Personally, I check here almost daily but rarely comment simply because I don't really have anything to say.

Alternatively, it seems like the core group of people who keep this forum going is relatively small. Maybe if there was some way to steer more fans here that number would go up? I don't know of any particular method that might get that accomplished though.
I will not be a parasite.

Very few of us actually have anything to say when we post, so that's no excuse!

... I don't want to respond to a thread and then realize "Oh, that person posted that 2 years ago...".

This kind of thing happens all the time anyway, even with people who have been around since the early days. Chances are, if somebody posted it 2 years ago, nobody remembers anyway :)

And on those rare occasions where somebody does start a duplicative thread, well... that's what the mods are for. I wouldn't stress about that because we can pretty easily fix that sorta stuff by just combining the new and the old.

If you just act like you've been here forever and already know all of us, we'll probably start believing it pretty quickly. We're pretty easily fooled like that. Lol, sometimes I'll be reading a post by somebody and will feel like they've been around forever, then when I look at their profile I realize they just started posting like a month ago. It happens more often than you'd think. We have pretty short-term memories around here, so if you just act like you've been here forever and already know all of us, we'll probably start believing it pretty quickly.

I can't wait until I post something and get "Wait who's that?"

I hope to set an example. You know, for children and stuff.

(About it being a good place to jump in, not any of the other parts. That's the scary woods that everyone in the village avoids.)

I hope to set an example. You know, for children and stuff.
