I've gotten kinda way into comics. Here's my pull list on Comixology:

Bitch Planet
Lumberjanes
Pretty Deadly
Saga
Sex Criminals
The Backstagers
The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl
The Wicked + The Divine

Also, Fraction/Aja's Hawkeye is pretty great. I basically don't give a shit about anything superhero unless it's subverting the genre. And then basically the queerer the better.

I hope to set an example. You know, for children and stuff.

LOVE Saga, loved W&D/Sex Criminals when I started but fizzled out, & while still reading Bitch Planet, I don't love it. Still have to catch up on Pretty Deadly.

Yes, that Hawkeye run is sublime! Try issue 1 of Tom King/Walta/Jordie's Vision. It's my favorite book right now, even above Saga.

I'm currently in a Brubaker obsession. Based on what you read, maybe try Fatale? Criminal was incredible, Fade Out blew me away, & am hyped for all things Kill or be Killed.

What on your list is your favorite? Older books you enjoy?

Oh I also forgot Gillen/McKelvie's Young Avengers run on my "Marvel comics I actually like".

SexCrims has lost some of the magic, though a few issues have been really great recently. I still really love WicDiv: that might be my favorite right now (because yeah, I have a crush on that team).

I've read some Brubaker, though I don't remember how much. I think vol 1 of Fatale, and maybe Criminal? Also possibly Fade Out but I remember not being super drawn in by that.

I'm trying to think of older books... most of my stuff is from humble bundles. Phonogram is cool (see above), although my overall summary would be "I don't get it but I think I liked it".

I hope to set an example. You know, for children and stuff.

I tried w/ Phonogram as well. They're a pretty grand team as McKelvie's art is breathtaking. Glad you're picking up books! My pull list is ridiculous right now.
