Well, since Brohan's got a music sharing thread going and B-Don's doing his book thing, I figured I could not be a total waste of oxygen and contribute something to this hurr board. I'll pick out some of my favorite American comics, and maybe some of that weaboo stuff, and give a quick bit of info.

First up, my favorite.

The Marvel Zombies series.
Written by Robert Kirkman, Art by Sean Phillips, Colors by June Chung.

Definitely the best series I've read. Every iteration is just awesome. It started in Ultimate Fantastic Four #21 and then came the Army of Darkness tie-in.

Black Hole
Writing and Art by Charles Burns

Very trippy comic, sort of reminiscent of Donnie Darko in a way. It's about an AIDS-like virus spread via sexual contact with a 100% infection rate that causes physical deformities and other such mutations (not just sores and weakness like HIV, but actual changes to the structure of the body, such as the main character's second mouth or another character's tail) and the high-school students that it spreads among. It's happily deranged and it's quite sick at times, but that's what it's meant to be. Check it out.

moar to come

i agree. farfann00gan art.

The Watchmen (it's a graphic novel but whatever) is simply amazing.
Frank Miller's The Dark Returns is also pretty sick.

My uncle worked at a Comic book shop and when the owner offered to give him the ownership he turned it down because he needed to "grow up." farfann00gan that. But yeah my two uncles are such comic book nerds i love it.

How has no one yet mentioned the classic awesomeness that is The Sandman? But then maybe I'm a bit biased because that comic helped me write a decent term paper. >.>

Grant Morrison + Dave McKean = Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth = Proof that I can do scripts in more of a "movie" style and still succeed at comics, especially since I already work really well with an artist friend of mine.

Steve Niles is love. His work on the 30 Days of Night series with Ben Templesmith is just fantastic (and as far as artists go, Templesmith wins). I picked up two issues of a 4-issue comic recently called Criminal Macabre: My Demon Baby. Unfortunately, I was only able to get issues 2 and 3. I need to see if I can order issue one from the Dark Horse site.

The Walking Dead is always a fun read. I'm behind on my trade collection of that series.

I confess to totally being shamelessly in love with The Umbrella Academy. It's just a really fun comic overall, even if issue 6 felt a bit rushed and certain characters seem to have gotten the short end of the stick by the end of series 1. >.> But whatever.

Picked up and read a HB of Wanted, thought it was good, much better than the movie, in my opinion. Hoping to road trip to Chicago in August for Comic-Con, and if not, road trip to New York Comic-Con in October.

We'll talk about how we'll change but we will never follow through.

The "Katie Deauxma" character she plays in the movie is such a cunt in the book.

They've already started on the sequel to the book. and I hear they'll most likely be doing a movie sequel, too.

We'll talk about how we'll change but we will never follow through.

No, what is it about? Deadpool at any given time, now has at least 4 books out a month.
I thought about picking up the MAX version, but I think quality would be sacrificed for vulgarity, but idk.
