Flow like the blood of Abraham through the Jews and the Arabs
Broken apart like a woman's heart, abused in a marriage
The brink of holy war, bottled up, like a miscarriage
Embedded correspondents don't tell the source of the tension
And they refuse to even mention, European intervention
Or the massacres in Jenin, the innocent screams
U.S. manufactured missles, and M-16's
Weapon contracts and corrupted American dreams
Media censorship, blocking out the video screens
A continent of oil kingdoms, bought for a bargain
Democracy is just a word, when the people are starvin'
The average citizen, made to be, blind to the reason
A desert full of genocide, where the bodies are freezin'
And the world doesn't believe that you fightin' for freedom
Cause you fucked the Middle East, and gave birth to a demon

or

Took a right on Lyndale I'm getting near
But then the road became empty and the people disappear'd
The clowds ran away, opened up the sky
And one by one I watched every constellation die
And there I was frozen, standin in my backyard
Face to face, eye to eye, starin at the last star
I should've known, walked all the way home
To find that she wasn't here, I'm still all alone

(This is one of the most emotional raps I ever heard IMO. This part, out of the entire rap, is my favorite. It's not his best rap, it's just my favorite rap and my favorite part)

And I only listed immortal technique and atmosphere, who you would consider "new rap." Now, tell me that's not smart rap.

So now, as sincere as I can possibly write this, I ask of you to please go fuck yourself with these lyrics and don't fuck with the big boys who know better.

Ghostface and Tech N9ne isn't new...But it is great stuff.

And to be honest, I was talking about the mainstream rap shit that is played on the radio. I honestly haven't heard of any of the stuff you posted, aside from Immortal, Ghostface, and Tech N9ne. That would fall under the category of smart rap.

I'll go listen to the people you named, and I know already I'm gonna hafta apologize. But as I said, I was referring to the mainstream rap bullshit that is played on the radio. Weezy, Kanye, 50 Cent, Akon, Souljew Boy, ect. all fall under "mainstream rap bullshit".
ah ok, seemed like you were generalizing. And Ghostface has had like 3 albums in the last 2 years, and N9ne's new album leaked last week, so even they still have new shit.
Here's some stuff.
Wale
Brother Ali
The Grouch
Aes Rock
DOOM

Yo Brother Ali is fucking awesome. In terms of rap, my favorites are Jurassic 5, Diverse, Surreal, Braille, Mos Def, Talib Kweli.. etc.

I don't have much of a real problem with any "popular" rap today, i just dont listen to it.

See, that is smart rap. Not that stupid mainstream shit of "YOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUU! CRACK DAT COTTON GIN!" and other crap like that. What you posted is good.

And I know Ghostface and Tech N9ne have new albums, I was just saying they've been around for a while.

these days all I bump is Weezy, Kanye, Outkast (and 3 stacks solo shit), 36 Chambers, Liquid Swords, The Cool Kids, Atmosphere, Wale, and I'm digging on Nas' new shit too.

tech n9ne's new album ain't bad, can't wait for new Clipse, T.I.'s new one might not be too bad, and I gotta revisit Ready To Die sometime soon.

immortal is good, but i honestly feel like he's the anti flag of rap. alright dude, we get it, the u.s. is fucked. rap about something else.

his lyrics are good but there's just something monotonous about his flow and style. i dunno. i guess when it comes to rap i'd rather have mostly fun with doses of seriousness.
