I thought we should just go ahead and start this topic. If the mods don't like it, or think it's too early or whatever, feel free to cast this post into the fire.

I know this opinion is not popular, but I was hoping Casey would stick to his guns by releasing another non-Act album before Act IV. I know he had written a bunch of stuff that was very personal, about his divorce and such, and I would have liked to hear that album without having the music crammed into a narrative that wasn't originally planned for it.

But whatever. If he is using that stuff for Act IV he obviously thinks it's not going to affect the music negatively and is confident that it will fit the narrative enough to justify the change. Either way, I'm ridiculously excited for the new album. I have high hopes!

What are some of your expectations or predictions for Act IV? What do you want from it?

I have faith in Casey, so I'm not going have any expectations. Act IV and a new Faith No More album out this year is pretty much the best news ever.

My fucking face when people were crying for Act IV for six years, now they finally get it and they're upset because they think he jumped into it too soon...

Into the fire it goes.

Maybe he was trolling us the whole time? He was making Act 4 and just told us he was making a stand-alone. Was the patience worth the pay-out?

Agreed. It will be awesome, and I can't wait to see where the story goes. My only prediction, and this might not happen until after Act IV, is the reappearance of Ms. Leading.

There is one hope that I have and that is the lyrical/musical throwbacks, for lack of a better term. Love that shit.

I was not one of those people clamoring for Act IV. My favorite thing they've released is The Color Spectrum, taken as a whole.

Grizzly - Yes, I love the musical quotation and if the title is any indication we're going to get plenty of it!

I for one would love to get more Indigo-esque electronic songs. According to Casey's recent AMA he said he was very interested in doing more stuff like that. That could mean doing more stuff like that in the future, or for this album.

I love the electronic stuff too. However, seeing that he has composed a symphony and has recently been working with an orchestra, I'll bet there will be lots and lots of strings. AND I LOVE STRINGS.

I've been lurking this site for a while but with the new album coming I decided it's time to make an account. As for my expectation for the album, I'm expecting more orchestral music as a sort of backbone through the album similar to that of The Pimp and the Priest, and I'm surprised to not have seen this yet on this thread but I know Casey mentioned acts 4 and 5 being a double album so i'm thinking that might be the case or maybe act 5 will come out late this year/early next year

I remember there were rumors during the summer tour last year that Casey was flirting with the idea of the next album being a double album. Or that he at least amassed that much material.

Theoretically, we could get Act IV this summer, with the 'non-canon' personal album in a somewhat quicker timeframe thereafter, like the beginning of next year. He could be working on them concurrently.

PS: It still hasn't sunk in that we're actually getting Act IV. YESSS.

What if the announcement was a typo and they're actually just releasing an album called "Active"?
