I guess this could go under the interviews category, but I specifically want to draw your attention to the portion of the interview about Acts IV-VI about halfway down.

I want to make it understood that this release won稚 be treated like a label release. I知 not gonna tour off of each one for 18 months. We値l either put out IV, V and VI at once or over the course of 2 years, and either just put them out online and make them available myself or press them up myself, but I feel like that is the most natural when I think about how to do it.

I think this will be good for everybody. As fans of the Acts, we'll get the final three sooner than we expected. As fans of The Color Spectrum, this allows Casey and TDH to continue to write content on a more personal level, as well as allow them to diversify/experiment more than if they were still stuck in the Acts. For Casey, this gets him out of being stuck promoting the Acts for the next 6+ years. For TDH as a whole, this probably will make them a more accessible band, which means more exposure and fans.

Awesome. That was a really sweet interview

I'm extremely excited for a less conventional release style for IV-VI, my only concern is that risks making them seem less like 'events' if you know what i mean

i'm all for getting them sooner and with less label bullshit in between, but part of me still really likes the ceremony and all the pomp of formally releasing an album and everything

however now that i think about it i doubt casey is going to be one to just throw them up on beardhunter.tumblr.com and be like 'here they are, whatever'

also more illustrious vinyl box sets please

He pointed out that he doesn't feel so enticed by spending another eight years on just the Act albums, which is completely understandable. He isn't getting any younger, and he wants to make a variety of music.

Based on what we see in the Color Spectrum, I completely believe in his ability to make a variety of music, and not just what we were used to - as phenomenal as it is.

Nonetheless, I love all of the Act albums immensely. I am anticipating their coming..

Yeah. I mean I knew the color spectrum would be awesome even when it was just called 'soon', but the way it turned out is in many ways more awesome than I was expecting. I definitely understand not wanting to spend so much time on finishing the acts

i mean either way we get to hear more awesome things right

So I just try as hard as I can be to be honest, but I知 not very well read. My favorite authors are Douglas Adams and Chuck Palaniuk. Definitely Douglas Adams.

Marry me.

I hope to set an example. You know, for children and stuff.

Also, I'm gonna move this to the news/interview section. It definitely has an Act focus at times, but it's much broader.

Releasing Acts IV-VI at once? After the Color Spectrum I guess a normal length album release is boring. Casey needs to bury us in music.

Not that I'm complaining.

I hope to set an example. You know, for children and stuff.

As much as I love TDH's progressive edge that they had on the Act's.... I think it's a great move for Casey to release Act IV-VI simultaneously. Creatively it will unburden the name 'THE DEAR HUNTER' from a discography of mostly the same genre music (if I HAVE to describe it... progressive/rock-opera/cinematic rock)
The Color Spectrum I think is just a taste of the variety Casey can achieve. And the fact that he doesn't care what comes out under the name TDH, allows him to grow and evolve as a person... 'Arting' with different mediums and not using the paper and pencil he used with the ACTS... nor the canvas and paints he used with TCS.

As long as they come out on vinyl eventually, I don't care what he does with them.

we get what we want sooner, for the sacrifice of no tours? i can definitely live with this, though it will be somewhat of a dissapointment. in the end, it'll all be worth it, i cant wait!

Hmmm...

I thought the Colors EP was pretty rewarding once you got into it, but it was (for me) a LOT to take in at once and I still haven't taken it in. Hopefully its release will be more spread out, too!

I'm just hoping that we get a middle-of-the-road CD release, too. I'm sure it'll be great!
