Most of the other creative endeavors are covered, so why not writing?

If you're looking to share poetry or prose, this is the place to be.

I know writing can be personal, but getting a little feedback can change your perspective in a major (and beneficial) way. It can also encourage you to write more often.

I know there have to be more writers out there, so hop to it.

I have nothing in mind to share at the moment, but this is the best idea for a thread. Posted Image

no...wait... i have something. it is prose. this has no title.

______________
i can never comprehend a mind so damaged and unstructured when the words would blurr and vision would slurr phrases more intoxicated than the time i inferred about the blood on your hands caked to eat while i watch and look at the televisions aura contains listless static like my mind is now full of movies without people or soundtrack or scripts or monochromatic colour-ing book cardiac cicatriz the deeper you look at it's more saturated with temporal grace and elegant phrases the cryptographer even finds it jaded and faded and forgotten the meaning of love is loathing those still life corpses in form of cinematically choreographed transient photographs chase their own dulled tails, a viscous cycle reverberating through the definition of sportsmanship in this game of hide and go fuck yourself.

I've been trying to write some lyrics/poetry every day, to get my mind in that creative place. Most of what I'll put on here will probably be shit, but I like some of it. I like #1 the most.

I started to write every day, but then I realized that I don't have any aspirations to be a writer, and it was taking away time for me to do things I actually had to do, so I stopped. Do you guys know about Five minute writing exercises?

I hope to set an example. You know, for children and stuff.

Is that like free-writing? I love to free write for 5 minutes whenever I get really stressed or anxious. It really helps to just put shit down on to paper so that you can realize it's nothing to worry so much about.

Sort of, but it gives you a topic to write about every day (usually fiction, or scene building, etc).

I hope to set an example. You know, for children and stuff.

Seem to have stalled on the TREOS story...

...so instead, working on finishing a little diddy I'm unfortunately calling Motive.

Retitling suggestions welcome.

Here's a little something I conjured up..

"The barbarian times of man had subsided. Instead, they were replaced by a solemn, expressionless age. The thoughts of men were contained by the absurd, and the only everlasting concepts were those of love. It was a vulgar age, a tasteless age. Yet, the truer pestilences were there still, like ancient pillars, encompassing the awe of any random spectator. And their awe was profound."

I've come to accept that my favorite poetry/prose is almost impossible to decipher. The more tricky the wording the better. Everything should be a clue to understanding everything else.

Agree? (y/n)

kind of nervous to show people things i write.. i never have before, but here is my most recent writing.

the turning wheels take me away
further from the memories we made
late nights and the early mornings
listening half asleep to the way she sings
instead i replace them with
the new thoughts i have for you
was i just your quick fix?
nothing but a fall back plan
i hope you feel better now that
you have someone who doesn't care at all
i hope you feel so much better
now that i don't care about you anymore
as all my feelings escape
the words rush from my mouth
into your broken ears
you can't hear a word i say
i'm pretty sure no one cares
about how fast you ran the track
but you keep running circles
around what you think is love
i thought i washed myself of the filth
of the world you just drug me back into
you never realized how much
how much of a pain you were in my back
a knife stabbing and tearing away
i'm going to break you down
i'm going to tear you apart
was i just your quick fix?
nothing but a fall back plan
i hope you feel better now that
you have someone who doesn't care at all
i hope you feel so much better
now that i don't care about you anymore
as all my feelings escape
the words rush from my mouth
into your broken ears
you can't hear a word i say
you should have heeded the warning i gave
people never change, love has made you its slave
you should have heeded the warning i gave
what you thought was love has made you its slave

So I have apparently run across Cody many times, years before LATR even existed, and did not know until just now.

I used to spend all my GFAQs time on the contests/summer contests board back in 2004-2005 or so, after I returned from my break during the fall of LUE. I didn't post much between 2003 and 2006, but I definitely remember seeing posts by your username at least on /8. It has been in my favourite board list since the feature was implemented.
