discuss your favorites, your least favorites, recommendations, what you're watching, favorite actors, upcoming movies, etc.
trying to be specific so there aren't any twin threads.

i think land of the dead is romero's most underrated of the dead film.

ehhh. Well Night is fucking amazing, Dawn is cool even though the remake pwned it, Day is decent but not as good as the first two, and Land was just the same old shit with Dennis Hopper being awesome. The only part I remember liking was when the one zombie's head snapped forward at the spine to bite that guy. I haven't seen the newest one yet.
Return of the Living Dead is where it's at though. TALKING ZOMBIES!!!!

Also a huge fan of zombie flicks. honestly for romero i always liked NOLD, but i'll have to give Land of the Dead another view. The storyline of 28 Days Later was excellent, but the movie itself was flawed. The cinematography was beautiful but it lacked that evil, jittery- zombie vibe. someday soon i want to have an Evil Dead marathon because i watched them in succession the first time and it was glorious.

Another interesting genre is kung fu. Despite the focus on action instead of character, visually it is one of my favorite things to watch. Supercop with Jackie Chan was what initiated my interest; following with the satire of Kung Fu Hustle to the depth of skill in any Bruce Lee movie. On the opposite side of this spectrum is a movie like Internal Affairs, which, without so much technicality, has a deeper storyline; almost like mob-law.

old Black n white; gotta go with Alfred Hitchcock. The Birds is one of my favorites, i could watch it again and again. It's like a beautiful painting. Every element of its creation is finesse; from the story to the script to the picture to the actor to the character. The one character i dislike is the teacher; but she is an important element to the story.

Finally, my favorite movie of all time is The Outsiders. I love Ralph Macchio lol. and this is where I get sad Brandon isn't here to fight with me about The Godfather vs. Goodfellas.

i will admit, i do like the dawn remake more than the original. day's probably my least favorite, for the fact that it's pretty much people bitching at each other and not enough zombie action. diary of the dead, the new one, i thought was good. but i'm just a romero fangirl. it's definetely different, and at times pretty boring.

i never liked the living dead movies too much, aside from night. too corny.

OKAY GUYS:

I saw the new Indiana Jones movie today. LOVED it. I have fallen for Indiana Jones once again, even if he is older and his sun is setting. Don't read any further if you don't want to have ideas planted in your head about it, but I'm not going to reveal any of the secrets, so don't worry about that.

The movie had a plot I wasn't really expecting. Well, I expected it after the first scene. What I mean is that I didn't expect an Indiana Jones movie to go in that direction. It was pretty cool. The movie had the same feel as the others, with only a few cringe-worthy parts. As a whole, gratuitous use of CGI was kept to a happy minimum. I hate CGI, so that pleased me. The new kid was given a very Short Round-like role, which I was happy about. The movie was very entertaining--a very true Indiana Jones movie.

me neither, i was sad. they said the changes would make for a better movie but it didn't work.

the next one that comes out is my favorite book of all time, so i hope they don't change it too much
