Probably already been said, but the truth is we owe you a thank you. You have, through your music, touched the lives of so many people and the fact that this release did so well on its first day provides us with hope that more and more people will get to hear your simply amazing music.

Keep on keepin on!

I see a lot of people expressing themselves, and their appreciation.

Let me express mine as well: I first heard The Procession from Act II when it first came out, and from then I was oddly intrigued. I became enveloped in the story at first, but soon I found the music describing something much more beautiful than the concept. The way it flowed, changed, it was like a rough stream, with ever-changing currents.

The emotion in the music translated from real events in your life, showing how we all hurt, and those emotions make sense to me, with how I hurt at times. I definitely regret not being able to meet you at the show at The National in August of two-thousand ten.

This time, in Vienna, I will most definitely greet you and the entire band and talk for a few.

Thank you, Casey.

I hope you continue to make music in new, expanding, profound ways that will undeniably make sense with us fans.

You are literally one of the most humble, down-to-earth, bitterly sarcastic (in a good way) people that I've ever had a chance to meet. The Color Spectrum cemented your place as my favorite musician, and you will always continue to inspire me in a multitude of different ways. You are the fucking man, Casey; that can never be said enough.

All that needs to be said, has already been said in this thread my bearded friend.

We've talked about our beards (or lack thereof in my case, at certain points) since your days in TREOS. I only hope that we can continue to talk beards and flesh colored trash for many years to come.

On the real, you're the man.

Everything I could possibly think to say has already been said. But you are an awesome, amazing, genius of a man. My ears have never had the pleasure of hearing so many different beats and tempos put all together to form something so beautiful. A big thank YOU for creating such amazing music and helping me through soooo much in this life. So thank you sir.

I know i cant really bring or say anything new in this love fest but i'm just going to speak honestly and from the heart. I am a person who tends to bottle my emotions, i mean ill tell any stranger any little detail about my life, but i never really tell ANYONE about how or what i'm feeling. I guess I see emotional dependence on other people as a personal weakness. Whether that is good or bad, ill find out eventually, but TDH, and particularly Act II, allow for a kinda channel for my emotions. I guess you could say that each time i listen to it i have a little cathartic release. There's just something about getting absorbed in that album and that allows for me to deal with all my pent up sadness and anger, and in all sincerity i thank you Casey. Sometimes i think its your music that keeps me from punching through the walls and throwing stuff

I didn't see this thread. So Casey I thankyou.

That being said. Make it up to us by creating a song so bad ass that a sonic orgasm is created effecting everyone in a 500 mile radius.

I wish I knew about this earlier.
I remember when I found out about The Dear Hunter.
I was listening to this band The Hush Sound and I loved Greta so I found Forgive Durden from her which led me to Casey. The first song I listened to was The Pimp and the Priest and I was sold from there.
Your music has helped me through some tough times, and it still does.
So thank you.

I recently joined the forum just days ago not even knowing that Casey was affiliated with it. I was determined to find other people like myself that most likely walked around all day like dorks singing TDH songs to themselves and to know I may have found that, plus a situation to hear a little more from the man himself is truly amazing. I regret I didn't find this place sooner. The music has always been influential to me in many different ways and it's so amazing to be able to share this with you all.

Just be careful. If you're ever on the whiteboard and you're trying to draw pretty pictures, he might come in and start erasing EVERYTHING YOU DRAW, leaving you with nothing but a very silly looking smiley face.

e.g., -

"Hi, I'm a recovering crackhead, and this is my retarded sister I take care of. I'd like some welfare please."
