Welcome to The Lake and The River (i.e., “LATR”) – the ultimate The Dear Hunter fan community/information site. The purpose of this thread is to provide newcomers with basic information about the band in order to help you kickstart your journey into a lifelong aural love affair. A lot of this information has already been posted in various places around the web and on this forum, so rather than repeat it all here, this will serve as more of an index, gathering the essential links to get you started. If you have any specific questions, feel free to register here and start posting. I promise we’ll be nice!

Additionally, if you found this through our sampler CD "15 Songs By The Dear Hunter: Presented in Technicolor by Lake and the River (Volume 2)", I’ve included the tracklist below, along with information on where you can find the specific songs.

The Band:

The Dear Hunter is essentially a “concept” band, telling the story of a protagonist known only as “The Boy”. The story spans over 6 “Acts”, three of which have been released to date. After completing Act III, the band took a break from the Acts storyline and released “The Color Spectrum” - a 36-song, 9 EP set, with one EP representing each of the seven colors in the spectrum, plus one each for Black and White. More information can be found in the links below.

Current live lineup:

Casey Crescenzo – Lead Vocals, Guitar, Keyboard
Nick Crescenzo – Drums and Percussion
Maxwell Tousseau – Guitar, Keyboard, Percussion, Synth, Vocals
Nick Sollecito - Bass
Rob Parr – Guitar, Vocals
Matt Fazzi - Guitar [Temporary tour fill-in]

Basic info:

Band Biography
Complete song list (A comprehensive list of all of the songs recorded/released by The Dear Hunter)
The “Acts” Story, the Cliff’s Notes version (A brief, somewhat comedic and very basic summary of the “Acts” storyline)
The “Acts” Story, the full version (An in-depth analysis of the Acts story, broken down song-by-song)
Casey FAQ (Various questions that Casey has answered over the years)
FAQ Version 2.0 (A newer version of the FAQ answering lots of common questions)

Tour Dates:

Tour Dates Thread - A list of all upcoming tour dates (with ticket links where available). The Dear Hunter experience is not truly complete until you’ve seen the band live, so if you like what you’ve heard so far, be sure to catch an upcoming show if at all possible.

Updated today to reflect that Connor has left the band and has [temporarily?] been replaced by Matt Fazzi.

Also updated the "Buy the music" link to reflect slightly revised URL

I heard nothing about Connor being gone gone. Just one day saw a post with Matt Fazzi. Was there like an announcement?

"He's trying to do the whole LA musician thing" (from either Max or Nick S....can't remember which one). Although my guess is that he secretly just wants to become a professional fisherman.
