Casey, back in 2007, The Dear Hunter went from "let me check out this band opening for Circa Survive's MySpace page" to quickly becoming one of my favorite bands of all time. Honestly, it's between you and The Beatles (who if you ask me, were The Dear Hunter of the 1960's with their musical diversity, creativity, and beardiness).

Keep doing what you do best, and I wish you the greatest of success with The Color Spectrum, your first headlining tour, and all other future endeavors. I can't wait to see what's in store for you and TDH in the coming years, whether that be more Acts or something completely different.

I'm just glad to be even the smallest part of this big crazy family. I came because of the music (no pun intended), but I stayed because everything around your band has such a ridiculously positive vibe and energy surrounding it. I really don't think I've ever experienced anything else quite like it. (It really does feel like a family). And imo, the reason is pretty simple - aside from the ob-vious (i.e., the kick-ass tunes), I think the thing that really makes you stand out (at least in my mind) is that I feel like you really are one of the most genuine people I've ever met - and I'm not just talking about musicians... I just mean in general life. Plus, it's clear to me that you're in this because of an intense passion and love of what you do, and I honestly believe that people can sense that in the music and in the attitude, and it makes everybody just want to be a part of it, because it's so rare and refreshing to see that. I've been a fan of a lot of different bands in my day, and I can't think of any other musician who cares about their fans anywhere near as much as you do, or who gives back even a fraction of what you do.

Oh, and...

Casey, I haven't been a TDH fan for long (about 4 months), but you guys have become one of my favorite bands so quickly. I really appreciate you caring so much about what you do and being such a nice person. I'm really looking forward to seeing you guys live again in Vienna. Hopefully I'll get to meet you!

Thank you, Casey. When I was looking for music that seriously went places, pulled old themes together in new ways, made me cry and feel, and want to hear more, more, more -- I found The Dear Hunter. And then I found this amazing group of people who feel the same way. Wow! To go to a show and see so many people singing along to your songs... man, I know I'm not alone.

So basically the opposite of DTF lol. I'm not too fond of that place, but I like what they said.

Lol... 5/8 is technically an offshoot of DTF. Although at this point it's completely unrecognizable as such. Many moons ago we were just one single Dream Theater forum... but disagreements escalated and philosophies divided users until we split up into two. One branch remained a Dream Theater forum (the current DTF) and the other branch became a general music forum (Five-Eight).

But I digress...

You are my inspiration to write music, and to be a better person, because you are the kindest most humble guy I've ever met and the most genius song writer alive. I first saw The Dear Hunter back in 2008 at bamboozle and I'd never heard of you guys before, and you're the first band ever to have made me just stop and listen to your music, because I was so blown away. Then I got so into Acts I and II when I got home, and just searched the internet for anything you've ever written. And now you've given us so much new, amazing music. You're the most dedicated and talented artist and I'll always listen to anything you ever write dude.

Love thread volume 2!

As I said in an email to you, this is our way of showing our appreciation for what you do. And so if to thank us you make more awesome music, then we'll have to show our appreciation again, which leads to more music, etc. It's the opposite of a vicious circle.

I'll end this with that, just because everyone else has already covered everything. Oh, and

no thank YOU casey. :) you are without a doubt one of the most talented song writer/musician/composer/producer/etc. that i have ever had the pleasure of listening to. the color spectrum just put you on a whole other planet from the rest.

you changed the way i listen to music.

i'm proud to support you and any future projects you decide to create and will continue to pimp TDH to everyone i come into contact with.
