How to start this..?

For the past 5 years I have been working without pause on trying to be the best I could be at this strange thing I do- doing my best to power through any hurdle that presented itself, be it personal or professional. I have always written from the heart, and done my best to remain transparent as an artist and an individual.

You guys have been with me the whole way, and have given me such amazing inspiration throughout this strange birth of a 'career'. Simply writing here is not enough to show you how grateful I am, and I wish there was a more tangible way for me to show you, but I just want you to know in your hearts that it means the world to me, and that I know for a fact I would not be anywhere close to where I am if it weren't for the unwavering support and love you have shown me.

It is incredibly humbling that you have all been so kind to me, and I hope with every future release you feel more and more gratitude, because it is most certainly due to you.

Thank you guys so much.

This is not a one way street, Casey. I don't want to speak for anyone incorrectly, but your music has personally changed both myself and how I look at life for the better. The only thing better than your music in my eyes is the fact that you're so incredibly humble about your skills, and even more kind to your fans.

You're a serious inspiration.

I could respond with a very long post, but a few words would probably be just as effective. This music has played such a huge part in all of our lives, and more importantly, I don't think a single person has left a show disappointed with you as a person. Thank you for never getting too big to talk to some random kids or partake in some witty banter. And a big thank you as well for taking time every now and then to come here and grace us with your presence. This release is a fantastic work of art and you can be proud of this masterpiece for the rest of your life.

EDIT: I'm pinning this for all to see. Casey, you can post this wherever

Thank you, Casey, for being you.

We're lucky to have some insight into your personality, which makes supporting your craftsmanship our natural response. You embody the creative in all of us; our wish to spend every day doing what we really love. At the same time, you're just a cool guy. We respect the way you do what you do.

Now if you excuse me, I have to explain to my wife why I'm sobbing in front of the computer.

Others above have said it better, so I won't type a big thing up.

Thank you for sharing with us "the strange thing you do"; I know it makes a very positive impact on my life and others who I know personally or don't know at all. Bon chance with the upcoming tour, projects, and life. Go celebrate :)

Can I just quote someone from the Dream theatre forum

Quote

This is seriously fucking incredible. I can't imagine any other band pulling something like this off so convincingly. In my mind, this cements The Dear Hunter as the best "rock band" on the planet right now. We all should sit back and fucking enjoy and appreciate how on top of his game Casey is right now. The creativity and energy pouring out of this man is mind blowing.

Everyone (including me) was skeptical about this project all along, and he has more than silenced any doubts at this point. He didn't just do "okay" or make something passable (which would have been somewhat easy considering people would have been willing to give a pass for the sheer ambition of this project), he created a near flawless collection of songs.

The Dear Hunter is untouchable for the moment. Bask in their glory.

thats how i feel right now, except i was not skeptical at all haha

Casey, you are seriously one of the nicest people I've ever met, and I can say that I'm proud to consider you more than the voice behind a band I like, but as a friend.

I am crying as well.

Never has a band/person touched my heart, saved my life (quite literally), and inspired an overflow of creativity of my own, or took the time before/after a concert to talk to an overly enthusiastic/sarcastic/questioning fan (me).

Concerning LATR's love for you: You deserve it all, and if you keep making music, we have your back 1000%. :Sheep:

Casey, you are definitely an inspiration to everyone that has been graced with the beauty of your music. You say that you try to be the best, and in my opinion, you are getting there FAST. Very few people could have pulled a project like The Color Spectrum so flawlessly, and to know that you will continue with the TDH story just leaves me with my jaw on the floor. If there's anyone that inspires me to continue making music, it's you, although I know I'll never be as good as you. Now if you excuse me, I'll go listen to TCS once again and jizz in my pants (once again, too).

I feel like we all owe you a debt of gratitude for making our lives richer and giving us air when the radio wants to suffocate us with garbage.
I can't imagine an existence so mundane and dull as one without your music.
